The mission of Lady Flower Gardens for the past 15 years has been to serve the Edmonton Food Bank through reliance on communities of marginalized and vulnerable people. Since the beginning of LFG, our hardworking gardeners have sent an estimated 375,000 pounds of locally grown, high quality, fresh produce to the Edmonton Food Bank. The project has connected people from all walks of life, coming together for the purpose of serving each other and their Edmonton neighbours. Though the time at the Lady Flowers Garden plot is coming to an end, this mission will continue on through the FYRE Gardens. Fresh produce will continue to be sent to food banks and people will continue to come together to serve each other. We are hoping that FYRE will spread across the city and even to other places, creating positive change through bringing people together.
